Direct Emulsion

Direct Emulsion LX-892, DLX, Proclaim EC, QX-3

LX-892 is formulated for direct printing on tile, ceramics, glass as well as imprinted sportswear. It is both water and solvent resistant. Mechanical resistance and printing runs can be enhanced considerably by chemical hardening with Hardener X, though such treatment will render the stencil "permanent" and it will be virtually impossible to reclaim.

LX-892 is violet, and turns brown when sensitized. Properly exposed, LX-892 will revert back to its original violet color, serving as a built-in indicator of proper exposure.

  • Compatible with virtually all water-based inks and plastisols textile inks
  • Powder diazo powder, not syrup has no hazardous shipping restrictions
  • Durability can be extended with Hardener X
  • Lower Rz value yields sharper printed edges
  • Occupationally and environmentally friendly
  • Virtually odorless and VOC-free
  • biodegradable

DLX is formulated to reduce acrylate odor and eliminate the surface oiliness that are characteristic of most dual-cure emulsions, especially under hot and humid conditions. As a result, positives are less likely to stick to the emulsion surface. Dries quickly because of its 38% solids content.

Proclaim EC using RD Sensitizing Technology is a diazo-free, ready-to-use dual-cure emulsion. It does not require the mixing of a diazo powder with water, the stirring of diazo solution into the emulsion, or any waiting time for de-bubbling. Proclaim EC is formulated to provide unequalled exposure latitude and ease of decoating, even if underexposed and used with aggressive inks and solvents. Proclaim EC is fast exposing, and provides good acutance. Its high solids content (37% unsensitized) provides good stencil build per coat, excellent mesh bridging, and fast drying. Proclaim EC has superb coating properties and durability, and is resistant to all solvent-based inks, as well as water-based UV-cured inks. Proclaim EC is ideal for general graphics, textile, and industrial applications. Proclaim/CL with RD Sensitizing Technology is undyed (dye is available on order).

No diazo to dissolve; no mixing of diazo into emulsion; no waiting for de-bubbling

Reliable performance in less than ideal shop conditions

Easy to reclaim, even if underexposed and used with aggressive solvents

    Fast drying

Good EOM (emulsion over mesh thickness) buildup per coat

Lower Rz value yields sharper printing shoulders

    Good see-through registration

Easy stencil inspection on white and dyed mesh

Resists a wide range of solvent-based inks

    Excellent coatability

    Forgiving of poor fabric preparation

    18 months at 70º F. (21º C.)

Ulano “Hybrid” Emulsion Technology Formulation for Industrial Screen Printing and Graphics

QX-3 is a dark blue colored, ready-to-use, fast exposing “hybrid” direct emulsion formulated for high resolution printing with solvent-based inks, and conventional UV and water-based UV inks. QX-3 combines the pre-mixed convenience, fast exposure speed, and extended shelf life of pure photopolymer emulsions with the durability, versatility, and excellent imaging properties of dual-cure emulsions. QX-3 provides wide exposure latitude with all common exposure systems, including such weak light sources as fluorescent tubes. QX-3 has excellent solvent resistance and can be reclaimed easily, even if under-exposed and used with aggressive inks and wash-up solvents. Its good mechanical resistance makes QX-3 the emulsion of choice for glass printing with abrasive frit inks. Shelf life: 18 months.
